Novopay have without notice recovered in full the emergency payments made to staff that missed out in the first Novopay round. This in at least one instance has been done without the required notice or consent detailed in the “Wages Protection Act 1983” . The Ministry’s complete inability to communicate with its victims is astounding. As is the complete in ability to provide honest and timely answers to the questions they are asked. It’s time for Leanne Gibson to fall on her sword and make room for a more professional and competent leader. Her continued involvement should bring the Secretary of Education’s position into question. Now is the time to be talking compensation.
Is the Ministry of Education above the Law? it seems they Believe so. The act is very clear

Non-taxable allowances such as Mileage Allowance have been added to Teachers taxable income and paid at lower than the lowest rate on the civil service scale. I would suggest the Ministry of Education’s payroll provider should be considering a name change from Talent2 to Talentless1 and any other organisation thinking of contracting their services should think again. I attempted to phone the senior management at Talent2 and was told by their telephonist that she was not allowed to transfer calls through. I left my details but the call hasn’t been returned after 8 days.

The PPTA has failed to adapt to tomorrows schools, with the change over the senior managers took on the role of employers as agents of the BOT. It’s at this stage that the PPTA should have moved to change the membership status of people in these positions. It would be very difficult for any member […]

When you join the PPTA and pay your fees direct from your salary an implied contract exists that should not require any further refinement. All the services of the union should be available to you without further fee or additional terms and conditions. That PPTA should require you to sign a further contract should you […]

We have been very busy getting ready for court and it has eaten into my time. But it has also provided some very interesting information and research. I won’t be publishing any of the court related material till after the event. But it has become very clear that there is a lot for the PPTA, […]

Who the hell is Pat Walsh, what exactly is he? http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/8836265/concern-over-teacher-competency/7/ I for one have little faith in people who rely on fractional statistics and no evidence and in principals that have only their own interests at heart. I wonder how many of them are actually just failed classroom teachers? There is clear evidence of […]

We’re into our third year of this saga on workplace bullying in the education sector and I would like to wish all my followers a happy, prosperous and conflict free New Year. To the bullies I would just like to say watch this space. To the Many people who helped with scanning documents over the […]

Discretion what exactly is it. The Ministry and the Education Act give an awful lot of this to Boards of Trustees (BOT) and Principals. To me discretion is the ability to make a discussion that is not likely to embarrass you in the future. To be fair and reasonable and show when you have power […]

Back to the secrecy. Why does the Board of Trustees at LPHS need this, why do the management staff need an indemnity including themselves if everything is above the radar. I would suggest that any new board coming into governorship make it a priority to examine the past. To free the teachers who have been bullied from their positions from this onerous contractual clause and get to the truth, taking the action required to fee the school from the suppressive culture that infests the special character the school clearly use to have. It would be fantastic to have to rewrite this blog to a positive conclusion for all and see the BOT finally act in the interests of the school. Click the title for the full artical

Just how supportive are the PPTA of their average teacher membership? are they a professional organisation? or just another tool of the sytem? should they be funded by government and not by overworked teachers? maybe they should not exist at all and move aside to make room for a more ethical organisation? lets see how this goes
